Project 2272 is a portion of the site/civil component
associated with the construction of the Terminal 3
Building (Project 2152). Project 2272 requires the
construction of an apron to serve the new 14-gate
terminal building at McCarran International Airport. The
project includes demolition of asphalt pavement,
Portland cement concrete pavement, chain link fence,
apron edge lighting and underground structures.
Temporary security fencing will be constructed along
the south perimeter of the project limits. After
completion of excavation/embankment operation,
construction of drainage facilities, and underground
utility installations, the apron will be paved with
approximately 90,000 square yards of Portland Cement
Concrete Pavement with a 6" deep aggregate base
section. New drainage facilities consist of trench drains
to collect surface runoff from aircraft parking positions
and an apron storm water collection system consisting
of concrete and PVC pipes, manholes and drop inlets.
Underground utility installations include water lines,
sewer lines, and gas line. An underground jet fuel
delivery system consisting of pipelines, valve vaults,
hydrant pits, EFSO vault and tie-ins to existing fuel
system is included in the scope of work. New Electrical
duct banks, communication duct banks, and apron
taxilane centerline lighting, including directional under
existing concrete apron pavement, are required. Apron
lighting will also include high mast lighting for new
equipment parking areas.
